"We are extremely disappointed for Josh because he has worked so hard and come so far," UK coach Mark Stoops said. "We are hopeful for a full recovery and look forward to his return to the field."
Clemons has been bedeviled by injuries throughout his career. He got off to a good start as a true freshman in 2011, leading the team in rushing through the first six games with 279 yards. But he then suffered a knee injury that sidelined him for the rest of that fall and also the 2012 season. Clemons was fully recovered this past spring and was running well before his latest setback.
