Earlier in July, it was reported that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer had turned in his previous employer to the NCAA for a secondary recruiting violation. Meyer denied that he had anything to do with it, though Ohio State did say somebody in the school's compliance department reported the possible violation to the Big Ten.
Well, when asked about it on Tuesday, Muschamp couldn't resist a chance to take a jab at the Buckeyes.
"We appreciate our friends from Ohio making sure we are compliant with NCAA rules," Muschamp said to reporters. "They certainly know a little bit about that."
Obviously, Muschamp is referring to recent penalties against Ohio State stemming from Jim Tressel's tenure in Columbus. Penalties that cost the Buckeyes a chance to play for a national title in Urban Meyer's first season on campus.
And while it was more of a stiff jab than an uppercut, we certainly respect the effort, Will.
