The Cardinals return 19 players who made at least one start during 2012, including quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, the 2012 Big East Offensive Player of the Year and preseason Heisman Trophy candidate. Louisville hopes to build on last season's success and claim a second-straight conference title during their short stay in the American before joining the ACC in 2014.
Cincinnati was picked second in the balloting, earning the other two first-place votes. Tommy Tuberville takes over a Bearcats program that has earned at least a share of four conference title in the past five seasons. Rutgers, who claimed a share of their first conference title in their first year under Kyle Flood, finished third and UCF was the highest ranked newcomer at No. 4.
