Fox Sports Southwest is reporting that Oklahoma could be without two defensive players when it opens its season against Louisiana-Monroe next week.

The report states that both cornerback Cortez Johnson and defensive tackle Chuka Ndulue will be suspended for the opener after both had run-ins with the law in the last year. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops would neither confirm or deny the report to the Daily Oklahoman.

Johnson was arrested along with Oklahoma receiver Jalen Saunders in December of 2012 when they were pulled over and police found marijuana in the car. Ndulue was arrested for a DUI in July.

If both players are indeed suspended for the opener, both could be big losses.

Ndulue not only played in 13 games for the Sooners last season but he also led the team with 4.5 sacks. He also had 45 tackles, including 5.5 for loss.

Cortez Johnson sat out the 2013 season after transferring from Arizona -- where he started two games in 2011 -- and was expected to be a starter for the Sooners at cornerback this season.
