Michigan WR Amara Darboh out for the season

On Wednesday Michigan coach Brady Hoke announced that wide receiver Amara Darboh would miss the entire 2013 season due to an injury.

"I love Amara, and just hate it for him, how hard he worked through the offseason and fall camp to earn a starting role," said Hoke in a release. "We'll rally around him like a family does and help him get through this difficult time."

Darboh suffered a foot injury during Michigan's scrimmage on Saturday, and it will require surgery.

Although Darboh did not catch a single pass in 2012, he played in 12 games for the Wolverines last season and was expected to start in 2013. While both Drew Dileo and Jeremy Gallon return from last year's Michigan team, neither of them can match Darboh's size as the sophomore checks in at 6-foot-2 and 213 pounds.

The competition to replace Darboh will come down to seniors Joe Reynolds and Jeremy Jackson, along with redshirt sophomore Jehu Chesson.
