The 2013 season will transition the Big Ten from one era into another, as the league says hello to two new teams and goodbye to Legends and Leaders after this year.

Coaching changes over the last 2-3 years have given the league a new identity as well. Goodbye Tressel and Bielema, hello Urban Meyer and Brady Hoke. Even with conference realignment and coaching changes across the board, the schools best positioned to win titles moving forward are some of the original B1G powers.

"The more things change, the more things stay the same," Tom Fornelli said on the Eye On College Football Podcast .

Tom joins me to preview the season ahead in the Big Ten, but first we begin with a discussion of the league as a whole. Can Wisconsin continue their success under Gary Andersen? Who will be the annual contenders in the realigned 14-team league?

We then move to the season at hand, including some fascinating games here in the first week. Northwestern will travel to face Cal in Sonny Dykes' debut, Penn State opens the season in the Carrier Dome against Syracuse in Scott Shafer's debut, and Purdue will face Cincinnati in a sold-out Nippert Stadium for Tommy Tuberville's first game as the Bearcats coach.

We touch on those games and many more, wrapping the show with Fornelli's five teams with a legit shot at winning the Big Ten title in 2013.
