Well this will certainly be a weekend that Georgia would like to forget. After losing to Clemson to open the season on Saturday night the Bulldogs got more bad news on Sunday.

Coach Mark Richt confirmed that wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

What makes the injury even worse is how Mitchell suffered it. According to Richt the injury occurred while Mitchell was celebrating Todd Gurley's 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Mitchell jumped and landed awkwardly.

Mitchell caught 40 passes for 572 yards and four touchdowns in 2012, and has 1,237 yards and eight touchdowns in his Georgia career.

If there's any good news for Mitchell it's that he should be back in time for his senior season in 2014, though I doubt that's much consolation to him right now.
