Florida running back Matt Jones is back in the starting lineup for the Miami game, ending his long absence from the team due to a viral infection.

Jones is listed as the starting running back for the Gators matchup with Miami on Saturday, but Gators coach Will Muschamp told reporters Monday that the extent of his playing time will be determined this week in practice. Jones has battled the infection since early August, slowly working his way back into game shape in recent weeks.

Backup running back Mack Brown carried 25 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns in Jones' absence against Toledo, powering the Gators offense in the 24-6 win. With Jones back in the lineup, Florida will have -- and likely use -- a full stable of running backs against the Hurricanes.

The depth chart lists Valdez Showers OR Mark Herndon as the third string running back, and freshman Kelvin Taylor could make an appearance as well after totaling 43 yards on just five carries against the Rockets.
