TCU starting quarterback Casey Pachall injured his left forearm in the second quarter of Saturday's game against Southeastern Louisiana. The school did not comment on the severity of the injury, but the senior quarterback has already been ruled out of the Big 12 opener against Texas Tech.

A source confirmed Pachall's absence for Texas Tech to CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman, adding that the senior quarterback was "doubtful" for the following game against SMU.

After the game, Gary Patterson did not have a timetable for Pachall's recovery or return. According to Fox Sports Southwest, Patterson indicated that the injury was "probably not good."

"I really feel bad for him if it's [serious]," Patterson said, "for everything he's gone through to get to this point."

The Horned Frogs senior quarterback was tackled by two Southeastern Louisiana players near the sideline, using his left (non-throwing) arm to brace his fall. He left the game and was taken to the locker room for x-rays. Late Saturday night, the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram reported that Pachall suffered a fracture in that non-throwing arm.

Trevone Boykin took over as the Horned Frogs starting quarterback after Casey Pachall left the team in October. Boykin saw significant action against LSU, but neither quarterback had much success against the vicious Tigers' defense. The sophomore quarterback finished the game with 70 yards on 6-of-12 passing and ten rushing attempts.
