Cody Kessler will be the USC's starting quarterback on Saturday, as the Trojans look to bounce back from a loss against Boston College.

The school announced the decision on Twitter Monday afternoon, after both Kessler and sophomore Max Wittek struggled in the Trojans' 10-7 loss to Washington State. Kessler has completed 18 of 32 passes for 136 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions thus far in 2013, while Wittek has completed just 8 of 18 passes for 90 yards with an interception.

The quarterback competition has been ongoing since spring practice, but Kessler took the field first against Hawaii and Washington State. Despite the presence of All-American Marqise Lee at wide receiver, no USC quarterback has completed a pass of more than 20 yards in 2013.

The Trojans, now out of the Top 25 after their loss to the Cougars, host 2-0 Boston College in the Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. It is the first road trip of the season for the Eagles, after notching home wins against Villanova and Boston College to start the Steve Addazio era in Chestnut Hill.
