Oregon's Marcus Mariota new Heisman favorite per Bovada

By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer

Through three games this season Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota has amassed 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Ducks have gotten off to a 3-0 start. Mariota's performance has also vaulted him to the front of the Heisman race according to Bovada, which now lists Mariota as the favorite with 9/2 odds.

Those odds are better than the 5/1 odds Bovada is giving last year's Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel.

Here are the top five candidates according to Bovada.

Marcus Mariota, Oregon: 9/2

Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M: 5/1

AJ McCarron, Alabama: 13/2

Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville: 13/2

Jameis Winston, Florida State: 9/1

The top seven players listed are all quarterbacks, with Mariota's teammate De'Anthony Thomas being listed as the running back with the best odds. South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is the only defensive player listed, as he's given 25/1 odds.
