Clemson LT Isaiah Battle ejected for uppercut punch against NC State

By Chip Patterson | College Football/Basketball Writer

Late in the fourth quarter of Clemson's 26-14 win over NC State, Tigers left tackle Isaiah Battle decided he would showcase some skills better set for Saturday Night Pay-Per-View than the football field.

Battle delivered a right hand uppercut to NC State defensive back Jarvis Byrd, leading to an ejection in the final minutes of the game.

"Very disappointed in Isaiah Battle," Swinney said after the game. "That can't ever happen. Really, really disappointed. That's not Clemson. That's a lesson for every one of those guys in there, something we talked a lot about in the locker room.

"I will say this," Swinney added. "[Battle] took ownership. He apologized immediately and he apologized to the team."
