Clemson's Isaiah Battle suspended for Wake Forest game

By Tom Fornelli | Staff Writer

That is video of Clemson offensive lineman Isaiah Battle punching North Carolina State defensive back Jarvis Byrd on Thursday night.

And by being smart enough to attempt to punch a guy wearing a helmet -- though at least he went for the uppercut under the facemask -- Battle has earned himself a week off.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney announced that Battle would be suspended for the team's game against Wake Forest this week. Swinney said that what Battle did was wrong, and even though he was remorseful, he would also face punishment at each Clemson practice this week.

Of course, while Clemson may have suspended Battle for the Wake Forest game, there is still a chance that that ACC could step in and hand out its own punishment.
