The 2013 college football coaching carousel has begun spinning even earlier than usual.
Hot on the heels of USC dismissing Lane Kiffin late Saturday night, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler that UConn has fired head coach Paul Pasqualoni in the wake of the Huskies' humiliating 41-12 loss at Buffalo Saturday. The decision was finalized Monday morning, Fowler reported.
The defeat in Buffalo dropped UConn's 2013 record to 0-4.
Pasqualoni was hired following Randy Edsall's departure for Maryland at the end of the 2010 season, one that ended with a share of the Big East title and a Fiesta Bowl berth. But under Pasqualoni UConn slipped to 5-7 in both 2011 and 2012, and began the 2013 season with a dispiriting 33-18 loss to FCS Towson.
Pasqualoni leaves the program with a 10-18 overall record.
