Buckeyes pay tribute to local sports anchor following daughter's death

By Mike Singer | CBSSports.com

The entire Buckeyes football team paid its respects to a long-time Columbus sports anchor this past Saturday after his daughter, a student at Ohio State, died in a car crash earlier this month.

Returning to Ohio Stadium for the first time since her death, dozens of Buckeye players embraced Dom Tiberi, a veteran sports anchor at WBNS-TV, a CBS affiliate. Tiberi's daughter, Maria, died on Sept. 17.

The Buckeyes wore “MT” stickers in honor of Maria during their win over Florida A&M on Sept. 21.
