Charleston Southern has agreed to play Colorado on Oct. 19, replacing the postponed game against Fresno State on the Buffaloes' home schedule.

The Buffs and Bulldogs were scheduled to play on Sept. 14, but heavy rainfall and flooding in Boulder led to the game getting postponed. The two schools couldn't reach a deal for a a makeup game this season, which included discussions of a possible three-way trade of bye weeks with Cal and UNLV.

"The Fresno State athletic department leadership, their president and their fans have all been very supportive and cooperative in our efforts to reschedule this contest," Colorado athletic director Rick George said Monday. "We are also most appreciative of Fresno State's student-athletes collecting donations to aid those victims of the flood."

With nearly all options exhausted, Colorado began shopping around for any opponent, FBS or FCS, that could come to Boulder on Oct. 19. With the possibility of facing two FCS teams in the same season, the school requested an NCAA waiver for it to be bowl eligible if gets to six wins this season. The Buffaloes already beat Central Arkansas on Sept. 7, and NCAA rules only allow for one FCS victory in the six wins required for postseason eligibility.

Colorado received the waiver from the NCAA on Friday, and announced the deal with Charleston Southern on Monday.

"We really appreciate (CSU athletic director) Hank Small and Charleston Southern working with us to schedule this game and we look forward to hosting the Buccaneers on October 19," George said.

Charleston Southern, a member of the Big South Conference, has gotten off to a 5-0 start in 2013.
