Missouri got their first road win over a top-10 team since 1981 and thrust itself into the thick of the SEC East race with a 41-26 win at No. 7 Georgia Saturday, but the win may have come at a cost after quarterback James Franklin separated his shoulder.

Per CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman:

On his Sunday show, coach Gary Pinkel said Franklin suffered a Grade 2 separation. A source told CBSSports.com that the injury will keep Franklin out at least six weeks. However, Pinkel set no timetable for his return, and on Sunday said "anything out there about how long he'll be out is false."

Franklin was tackled and landed hard on the shoulder early in the fourth quarter, with his Tigers up 28-26. He subsequently went to the Missouri locker room and was replaced by backup Maty Mauk. Franklin later reappeared on the sideline with his shoulder iced and his arm in a sling.

The injury came with Franklin enjoying one of the biggest performances of his career, going 18-of-27 for 170 yards and rushing for 23 yards and a touchdown as he led Missouri to a 28-10 lead.

The senior struggled with injuries in 2012 but had gotten off to a hot start for the undefeated Tigers in 2013, ranking fourth in the SEC in passing at 281 yards-per-game entering Saturday's game.

The Tigers will be encouraged by Mauk's performance down the stretch in leading Missouri to the 41-26 victory. He hit 3-of-3 for 23 yards, rushed for 7 yards on a critical 3rd-and-6, and saw both of his drives end in touchdowns to salt away the upset.

After hosting Florida, Missouri plays at home against South Carolina Oct. 26 and then Tennessee Nov. 2.
