Devin Gardner and Jeremy Gallon have been a proven connection throughout the 2013 season, but never has Michigan benefited from the duo like they did on Saturday in the record-breaking 62-47 win against Indiana.

Gallon pulled in 14 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns, setting a new school and Big Ten single-game record for receiving yards. The performance is second all-time in FBS play, but Troy Edwards' record of 405 yards seemed in doubt until Indiana's offense finally stalled down the stretch and Fitzgerald Toussaint sealed the game on the ground.

Playing in this kind of shootout -- Michigan and Indiana combined for 1,335 yards of total offense -- helped boost the statistics, but so did the backyard style that Gardner and Gallon do so well. When a play busts and Gardner extends the play with his feet, Gallon always seems to find an open spot in the defense.

Devin Gardener walked out of the shootout with a school record of his own with 584 yards of total offense, and the team set a new single-game school record with 751 yards of offense. The Wolverines could have put Indiana away earlier, but two lost fumbles in the second half allowed Tre Roberson and the up-tempo Hoosiers offense to climb back into the game.
