Last week, all Jordan Lynch did was rush for an FBS quarterback-record 316 yards in leading No. 23 Northern Illinois to a comfortable win over Central Michigan. So what could he do for an encore this week against Eastern Michigan?
How about throwing for, rushing for and catching a touchdown, all in the same half? With the touchdown pass and touchdown rush boxes already checked, here's Lynch hauling in the trick pass from Tommylee Lewis to put the Huskies up 28-3:
Per ESPN, Lynch is the first player with two passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the same game since Ohio's Boo Jackson in 2010.
At the half, Lynch is 13-of-17 in the air for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns; has rushed 17 times for 93 yards and a touchdown and has one reception for 17 yards and ... wait for it ... a touchdown. The Huskies led EMU at the half 38-3.
Lynch won't win the Heisman, and isn't likely to even sniff a New York City invite. But he's putting together a season to remember all the same.
