Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State each hold on to their positions on top of the AP Top 25 poll after convincing wins in Week 9, winning by a combined margin of 199-55 against conference competition.

Baylor moved up to join the unbeaten teams in the Top 5 -- the Bears best AP poll ranking since 1953, improving to 7-0 with another productive output; claiming a 59-14 victory on the road against Kansas. South Carolina appeared out of the SEC East title race before overcoming a 17-point fourth quarter deficit to knock off previously undefeated Missouri in overtime. The Tigers only fell to No. 10 after the loss, but South Carolina moves up to No. 14 and, most importantly, has a real shot to punch their ticket to the SEC title game.

Miami and Clemson avoided upsets against ACC foes, but Texas Tech was not as lucky on the road against Oklahoma. The Red Raiders fell from No. 10 to No. 15, just below the Sooners, and Auburn moved up to No. 8 after taking care of business against FAU.
