While the "Saban-to-Texas" rumors have been swirling, Mack Brown has turned the Longhorns' season around and now sits in a position to contend for a Big 12 title down the stretch of the regular season.
In an appearance on Friday's edition of the Tim Brando Show, Brown addressed those rumors and reaffirmed his desire to continue leading the Longhorns moving forward.
"Nick is a friend and he's done a tremendous job at Alabama," Brown said. "Nick's not trying to get my job, I mean, I know Nick. So I don't have to worry about that. And if I do my job, there won't be any job to be open to get, so I think that's the other thing."
Texas hosts Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in a crucial game for the Big 12 title race. The Cowboys already have a loss, to West Virginia in Morgantown, so wins at Texas and against Baylor at home next week are needed to keep BCS hopes alive. A win keeps Texas undefeated in conference play, with Texas Tech and a visit to Baylor left on the schedule.
