It seems like a foregone conclusion already, but according to Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, Johnny Manziel won't make a decision about the NFL Draft until after the regular season and before the Aggies bowl game.
"We haven't had that conversation," Sumlin said while appearing on ESPN radio. "My job is to get him all the facts that we can get him. We'll have that discussion after the Missouri game, certainly during the bowl preparation. I'm sure the announcement will be made at that time."
Now, I don't doubt Sumlin at all when he says he hasn't talked to Manziel about his future yet, but I do have serious doubts that Manziel won't be making his decision until after the regular season. While it may not be official, I think it was known before the season that as long as he didn't suffer some kind of injury, this would be Manziel's last college season.
He's already won a Heisman Trophy, and he may win his second one next month. Aside from playing for a national title, there really isn't much reason for Manziel to return to Texas A&M when he's currently projected as a first-round draft pick.
