Per Bovada, FSU, Winston now heavy BCS/Heisman favorites

The last several weeks of college football have seen any number of BCS contenders and Heisman contenders fall by the wayside, with two connected notable exceptions: Florida State and Jameis Winston.

Those exceptions now appear to set to rule the college football roost, at least according to offshore oddsmaker Bovada.lv. After Alabama's loss to Auburn, the Seminoles are now 1-to-3 favorites to win the BCS championship, while "runner-up" Ohio State is listed with far steeper odds at 4-to-1.

The only other teams remaining on Bovada's board are Auburn (5-1), Missouri (12-1) and Alabama (50-1).

Built into the odds are the difficulty in each of those team's respective conference championship games; not only would the Seminoles be favored against any potential BCS Championship Game opponent, but defeating Duke this Saturday shapes up as a much easier task than defeating Michigan State or either SEC divisional champion.

But even the Seminoles' friendly odds have nothing on their quarterback's. Despite the ongoing sexual assault investigation focused on Winston, that any decision from the State Attorney's office on possible charges won't be made until after Heisman ballots are cast means Winston is a prohibitive Heisman favorite. Bovada lists him at 1-10 to win the trophy.

Perhaps most interesting is that the second-shortest odds belong to Northern Illinois's Jordan Lynch at 5-1. Lynch broke his own FBS single-game quarterback rushing record with 321 yards in the Huskies' season finale vs. Western Michigan.

After sitting at 5-1 himself last week, AJ McCarron slipped to 15-1 after Alabama's defeat, behind Lynch and Ohio State's Braxton Miller at 12-1. Boston College running back Andre Williams is at 20-1, with Johnny Manziel now off the board.
