Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chuck Martin will take over the Miami (Ohio) football program, according CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman.

Miami fired Don Treadwell after an 0-5 start to the 2013 season, then finished the year 0-12 with a 55-14 loss at Ball State.

Martin was previously the head coach at Grand Valley State before joining Brian Kelly, his predecessor at Grand Valley State, on the staff at Notre Dame. Martin led the Lakers to two Division II national championships and a 74-7 record from 2004-09.

Treadwell was hired after the departure of Mike Haywood in 2010, but the RedHawks recorded back-to-back 4-8 seasons before the wheels came off in 2013. While a force in the MAC a decade ago, the program has recorded just two winning seasons since 2005.

The 0-12 finish this season earned Miami the unwanted honor of No. 1 in the final standings of the CBSSports.com Best Worst Ten.
