Mettenberger was injured late in the Tigers' 31-27 win over Arkansas on Friday. The senior quarterback -- and NFL Draft prospect -- hurt his left knee in the fourth quarter when he was hit after releasing a pass. He was helped off the field by trainers and was on crutches after the game.
Mettenberger wears a brace on the left knee, but he denied in October that there were any structural problems.
After the injury, Anthony Jennings -- who will likely start in Mettenberger's absence in LSU's finale -- led the Tigers on a 99-yard game-winning drive against the Razorbacks, including the game-winning 49-yard touchdown pass to Travin Dural.
Mettenberger finishes his senior season with 3,082 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against 8 interceptions for the 9-3 Tigers.
