When Arizona State faces Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl it will do so with one less quarterback on its roster. Coach Todd Graham confirmed after practice on Friday that backup quarterback Michael Eubank is transferring.

“He got his release from us today, and we wish him the very best,” Graham said. “Great young man, and we're going to try to help find him a home.”

While the ultimate destination for Eubank is unknown at this time, word is the redshirt sophomore will move down to the FCS level and thus won't have to sit out a season and lose one of his two remaining years of eligibility.

Eubank played in 12 games for the Sun Devils in 2012, throwing for 330 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for another 223 yards and four scores. However in 2013 he saw far less of the field, appearing in six games but only throwing five passes and carrying the ball 13 times. Eubank did manage to rush for another three touchdowns in that limited role.

With Taylor Kelly solidifying himself as the starter this season and heading into next year, along with the presence of Mike Bercovici, odds are Eubank wouldn't have seen the field all that often in 2014 either.
