A source close to Charlie Strong, with direct knowledge of the situation, told CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler that Strong will accept the Texas job on Sunday. The Associated Press reports that Strong has told Louisville AD Tom Jurich he is leaving.

Reports first began to surface that Strong was Texas' choice on Friday, but Strong wanted to wait until he could talk to Jurich personally before accepting Texas' offer.

According to Sports Illustrated, Strong's contract is worth $5 million per year for five years.

Both UCLA's Jim Mora and Baylor's Art Briles withdrew their names from consideration from the job on Friday hours before the Strong reports broke.

In his four seasons at Louisville Strong's teams have gone 37-15 -- 23-3 the last two seasons -- with two conference titles and a 3-1 record in bowl games, including a Sugar Bowl win over Florida following the 2012 season.

He will be Texas's first African-American head coach.

Early Saturday, Strong told Louisville's assistants that he had not yet made a decision on whether to accept the Longhorns' offer. "It's a difficult decision for him," Louisville spokesman Rocco Gasparro told the AP.
