Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has officially submitted the declaration papers for the 2014 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com.

Manziel remained mum on the issue during his time as an ESPN analyst for the BCS National Championship game on Monday, but this has been the expected outcome by many for several weeks.

At Texas A&M, Manziel made history as the first redshirt freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012. Johnny Football became a celebrity of the sport after the season, and controversy -- both in the form of a public dismissal from the Manning Passing Academy and a brief suspension for violating NCAA rules -- soon followed.

But when Manziel hit the the field in 2013, there were few in the sport who could stand on his level. Manziel actually threw for more yards (4,114) and more touchdowns (37) and improved his completion percentage this season, finishing his Texas A&M career with another trip to New York City as a Heisman finalist and an epic comeback performance against Duke in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
