PHOTO: James Franklin puts out ad thanking Vanderbilt

DOYEL: Nothing wrong with recruits following Franklin

James Franklin has left Vanderbilt for Penn State, and in his transition to his new job he's taken most of his coaching staff with him, as well as a few recruits, but Franklin also left a message for his former employer in Nashville.

Franklin took out an ad in The Tennessean to thank Vanderbilt.

If you can't read the message in the photo it reads "Thank you, Vanderbilt. It was a wonderful experience. I am forever grateful. Anchor down, James Franklin."

Which is a nice thing to do, though I'm sure most Vandy fans would prefer to still have Franklin rather than an ad in the paper.
