Texas is getting its quarterback back.

David Ash, who missed most of the 2013 season as he dealt with a concussion, has been cleared by doctors to return to the team for spring practice. According to athletic trainer Kenny Boyd, Ash will be able to fully participate in workouts and practices.

Ash began last season as Texas' starter but suffered a concussion in the second game of the season against BYU. He would return a few weeks later against Kansas State, but would leave that game at halftime and not return for the rest of the season.

In his limited action, Ash completed over 60% of his passes for 760 yards, seven touchdowns and only two interceptions. He also rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown.

If Ash is healthy enough to get through the spring and earn his starting job back it would be a boost to the Texas offense in 2014.
