Report: Mike Hart jumps from E. Michigan to Western Michigan

By Chip Patterson | Staff Writer

Mike Hart, star running back and former team MVP at Michigan, will reportedly leave the Eastern Michigan coaching to join P.J. Fleck at Western Michigan.

Hart was the only assistant coach from Ron English's staff retained by new head coach Chris Creighton. He has been the Eagles' running backs coach for the last two seasons, and according to Hart will take the same position with WMU.

Hart will reportedly take the position left vacant by Charles Huff, who left WMU to join James Franklin's staff at Penn State.

Western Michigan was already hitting reboot at the running back position before the staff changes. The Broncos two primary ball carriers from 2013, Dareyon Chance and Brian Fields, have exhausted their eligibility and even with that duo the offense ranked No. 103 nationally in rushing offense (3.58 yards per carry).
