Notre Dame officially announced Mike Denbrock's promotion to offensive coordinator on Thursday night, completing the Fighting Irish football staff for 2014.

Denbrock, previously the passing game coordinator/outside wide receivers coach, has been a member of Notre Dame's staff since Brian Kelly was hired in 2010 and served as the interim offensive coordinator for the team's 29-16 Pinstripe Bowl win against Rutgers.

Notre Dame lost its offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator to head coaching jobs; OC Chuck Martin to Miami (Ohio) and DC Bob Diaco to UConn. The school introduced Brian VanGorder as the new defensive coordinator on Jan. 13 and, while it had been reported for several weeks, Denbrock's promotion became official this week.

Denbrock is scheduled to address the media Friday afternoon.

Before moving to passing game coordinator for 2012, Denbrock coached the tight ends in 2010 and 2011. He was also the tight ends and offensive tackles coach for Notre Dame on Ty Willingham's staff from 2002-04 and coached with Brian Kelly at Grand Valley State.
