According to a report from Cincinnati.com, Cincinnati is expected to name Mike Bohn as its new athletic director on Thursday. The school is scheduled to make an announcement on its search for a replacement for Whit Babcock on Thursday evening.

Bohn may be a familiar name to some, as he most recently served as the athletic director at Colorado from April 2005 through May 2013. Bohn resigned from that position after Colorado told him it was planning to replace him and offered to reassign him to another position within the school.

While the struggles of Colorado's football program and a series of bad coaching hires likely led to Bohn's downfall at Colorado, there's something else he accomplished at the school that Cincinnati was no doubt drawn to.

Bohn oversaw Colorado's move from the Big 12 to the Pac-12 in 2010.

It's not exactly a secret that Cincinnati wouldn't mind leaving the American Athletic Conference for one of the five power conferences, and there has been plenty of speculation about Cincinnati joining the Big 12 in recent years.
