East Carolina defensive end Terrell Stanley is in critical condition following a car accident Wednesday morning, according to a release from the school.

The release says that Stanley was the driver of a car in a single-vehicle accident with offensive lineman Isaac Harris as a passenger. Both players were taken to Vidant Medical Center, but Harris was released after undergoing precautionary evaluations.

While there are limited details about the accident in the release, it does say that both players were on their way to ECU from their off-campus residence when the accident happened.

Stanley started 12 games for the Pirates last season, finishing second on the team with seven sacks and third on the team with 10 tackles for loss.

Harris started 12 games as the team's left tackle.
