According to a report on al.com, Auburn football signee Kalvaraz Bessent's attorney says all charges stemming from a drug arrest last week have been dropped and the cornerback's name has been cleared.
According to several reports, Nassau County (Fla.) sheriff Bill Leeper said a vehicle was stopped for speeding at approximately 10 p.m. last Friday. Leeper said the vehicle was searched after officers smelled marijuana, and four bags of the drug -- totaling more than 200 grams -- were located under the front passenger seat, where Bessent was seated.
A rep with the Florida state attorney's office didn't comment when reached by AL.com and said the case is "still active," according to the report.
Bessent said, via Twitter:
"Thanks to all my AU family that stuck with me through this see you guys at Auburn War Eagle!!!"
