It appears the Malik McDowell Saga could be nearing its end.
The five-star defensive end out of Detroit, who committed to Michigan State but has not sent in his letter of intent, told 247Sports.com that he won't be taking any unofficial visits to other schools.
"I'm not going on any [visits]," said McDowell.
Which is good news for Michigan State fans hoping McDowell is in East Lansing next season.
McDowell committed to Michigan State, but his parents weren't happy with is decision, preferring that their son leave the state to go to college. As a result, McDowell has not sent in his letter of intent because he still needs his mother to sign it. Something that could happen soon, as McDowell says that she is "coming around."
"It's a big relief," McDowell said. "Most likely I'm going to be able to go where I want."
It would also be a relief for Michigan State fans, who have spent the last few weeks eagerly anticipating a resolution to McDowell's situation. Something the Eye on College Football covered in our latest installment of Breaking Down the Buzz.
