A chair is an important thing. When I was in high school I received a recliner from one of my father's friends, and I fell in love with it. It was my chair. When I went to college, I took that chair with me. It left college with me as well.
It would survive a few more years before I finally had to accept the reality of the situation, and move on to a new relationship with a new chair.
Why am I telling you all of this? I don't know, I just miss my chair. It was an awesome chair that was always there for me in a time of need. And when I saw this photo of one of the eight recliners that Brian Kelly bought for the Notre Dame locker room, I started to think of my old chair.
May these new recliners mean as much to Notre Dame players as my old recliner did to me. Appreciate them while they're there, because one day they'll be gone.
