Bell suffered an MCL injury on Tuesday in the Buckeyes' first spring workout. There are high expectations for the sophomore safety in 2014, especially in a defensive backfield that will be missing Bradley Roby (early departure to the NFL draft) and the top three safeties (Christian Bryant, C.J. Barnett and Corey Brown).
Bell is expected to resume workouts in May, leaving him the entire summer to get back into playing shape before fall camp opens in August.
"Thank you Buckeyenation and everyone else for all the prayers and speedy recovery," Bell wrote on Twitter. "I will be back."
Bell, a four-star member of Ohio State's 2013 recruiting class, recorded 19 tackles last season and recorded his first career interception against Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
