Roster attrition is a fact of life for programs who have undergone a coaching turnover, and it's no surprise that Texas won't be an exception under Charlie Strong.

Per Horns247.com, Strong and the Longhorns announced Sunday the dismissal of two veteran players -- rising senior fullback Chet Moss and rising senior defensive back Leroy Scott -- for unspecified violations of team rules.

Scott appeared in 38 games for the Longhorns over his three seasons in Austin, primarily on special teams where he was named the team's co-special teams player of the year in 2013. But as a junior he also appeared in seven games as a defensive back and tied for the team lead with three fumble recoveries. He had been projected to see a further increase in playing time, likely at safety, in 2014.

Moss likewise saw the majority of his time on special teams, appearing in 27 games in three seasons. He was suspended for the Longhorns' 2013 Thanksgiving night game against Texas Tech, also for an unspecified violation of team rules.
