Virginia Tech rising sophomore cornerback Brandon Facyson's spring camp lasted all of one day.
The Hokies opened spring drills Thursday, then announced this Friday:
Brandon Facyson will miss the remainder of spring practice with a left tibia stress reaction. He will return for summer workouts. #Hokies— VT Football (@VT_Football) March 28, 2014
If Facyson does return as expected for summer workouts, it's hard to see him being negatively affected at all by the time the season rolls around.
All the same, Hokie fans won't be happy to see any potential lingering injury for one of the team's most talented players. As a true freshman in 2013, Facyson earned third-team All-ACC honors and was named a 247Sports Freshman All-American alongside teammate (and fellow corner) Kendall Fuller.
The Roanoke Times' Andy Bitter writes that sophomore Der'Woun Greene "should be elevated to the first team" in Facyson's absence. Junior Donovan Riley and sophomore Chuck Clark could also increased reps as a result of the injury.
