Miami (Ohio) unveils John Harbaugh statue at the 'Cradle of Coaches'

By Chip Patterson | College Football/Basketball Writer

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh was honored over the weekend by his alma mater Miami (Ohio) with the unveiling of a statue outside Yager Stadium.

Harbaugh, a defensive back for the RedHawks as a player, was joined by family and friends on Saturday at the Cradle of Coaches Plaza for a ceremony to debut the bronze statue.

"This Cradle is the greatest honor in coaching," Harbaugh said via the Baltimore Sun. "You just think, man, these are the men that played and went to school at Miami University and we're playing and walking that same path that they walked. It's an incredible, incredible thing."

According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome surprised Harbaugh on Friday along with several of the current Baltimore assistants and his brother, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. After a private ceremony, John, his brother Jim and father, Jack, spoke to the current Miami team.
