Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads got some good news about his team's defensive line depth Thursday, as defensive tackle Brandon Jensen rejoined the team.

“We are obviously extremely pleased to have Brandon back with us next year,” Rhoads said in a release from the school. “He gives an immediate upgrade at a position we are very thin at. He also brings tremendous leadership and experience to his position group and our entire football team. Brandon is a hard worker and Big 12-tested. We are looking forward to him being a leader for us in 2014.”

Jensen left the team due to personal reasons in December, and his departure along with that of fellow defensive lineman Nick Kron, left the Cyclones with only one returning letterman on the defensive line this spring.

He started all 13 games at nose tackle in 2013, finishing the season with 18 tackles, four for loss and a sack. He's appeared in 36 games during his first three seasons in Ames.
