A bit of surprising news as we head into the weekend, but Georgia cornerback Shaq Wiggins is transferring.

"Shaq and I have been talking over the last few days and a fresh start is what he believes is in his best interest," said Mark Richt in a release Friday night. "We respect his decision and certainly wish him nothing but the best."

Wiggins started eight games as a freshman for the Bulldogs in 2013, finishing the season with 19 tackles and three tackles for loss. He also had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, and broke up four other passes.

In other words, he was one of the lone bright spots in a Georgia secondary that had its problems in 2013. Georgia finished eleventh in the SEC in defensive pass efficiency, giving up 7.7 yards per attempt, and allowing 18 passing touchdowns.
