Former USC running Ty Isaac has not chosen a transfer destination yet, but the Joliet, Ill., native has confirmed that he is looking to make a move to the Big Ten.

Isaac, a four-star member of the Trojans' 2013 recruiting class, said earlier this week that the transfer was a family decision to move closer to home. Isaac had offers out of high school from Northwestern, Illinois and Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish have been ruled out by USC.

"Right now they are a team I can't talk to," Isaac told the Chicago Tribune. "That might change. [USC] might have missed the deadline to give restrictions. If they did I would consider it.

"I definitely don't want it to be a dragged-out process. I want to figure out where I'm going to be next year and get to work."

Such a restriction would not be a surprise, as USC and Notre Dame are scheduled to continue their annual rivalry games well into the future.

Isaac said Thursday that he has heard from Illinois and Michigan already and is focusing on a move to the Big Ten with Notre Dame ruled out.

via Chicago Tribune:

Isaac said his mother's phone was “blowing up” Wednesday while he traveled home from California, and he personally heard from Michigan and Illinois, among others, Thursday.

The Wolverines, who were in the picture originally, and the Illini fit his criteria.

“I wouldn't say I have a top three, but I'm looking at Big Ten schools that are close to where I live,” Isaac said.

Isaac had 40 carries for 236 yards and two touchdowns last season, and caught four passes for 57 yards.
