Daniel Sams did not need long to find a new school.
The former Kansas State quarterback announced his decision to transfer from the school in mid-May, and now, according to ESPN.com's Jake Trotter, Sams will be enrolling at McNeese State this fall. Since Sams is transferring to an FCS school he will not have to sit out a season and is eligible to play in 2014.
Sams split time at quarterback with Jake Waters last season, throwing for 452 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. He was more of a threat as a runner, though, rushing for 807 yards and 11 touchdowns. As the season progressed, though, Sams saw Waters getting a lot more snaps at quarterback.
After the season he asked to be moved to wide receiver, but found himself buried on the depth chart at the position after spring practice. Shortly after that he announced he would transfer.
