The January bowl calendar continues to get busier and busier with the College Football Playoff changing the landscape for when the premiere games are being played.

The latest game to make the jump from December to January -- which, techically, is a form of time travel -- is the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. It was announced Thursday that the next edition of the game will be played on Jan. 2, 2015 at 12 p.m. ET. The game, which will be shown on ESPN, will continue to be played at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, the home of the TCU Horned Frogs.

“A Friday kickoff is the perfect end to a holiday week chalked full of college football and ending appropriately in Fort Worth,” said the bowl's executive director, Brant Ringler. “We are honored to host the return of the U.S. Military Academy (Army) for the second time and are equally enthused to host a worthy opponent from the new American Athletic Conference.”

The game will feature a team from the American Athletic Conference playing Army (or a replacement team if Army isn't bowl eligible).
