Lots of college football programs will get creative when it comes to selling tickets. Lots of college football programs will get creative when it comes to uniform tweaks. But how many will get creative with both at once?
At least one, thanks to Purdue. Here's Tuesday's tweet from the Boilermakers' official feed, offering students a chance to have their photo -- their tiny, tiny photo -- embedded on the team's helmets:
The helmets will be worn one time only, during the Boilers' Sept. 27 Homecoming game against Iowa. The "VIP card" is an all-sports ticket available to a limited number of Purdue students, but season ticket-holders also had the opportunity to upload photos for on-helmet usage. (Contacted by CBSSports.com, a Purdue official indicated the "possibility" other season ticket-holders and official booster club members might have the opportunity to provide photos later this summer.)
Now, if Darrell Hazell's offense can show a little bit of this kind of ingenuity itself, the Boilers will really be getting somewhere.
