Georgia LB Davin Bellamy charged with DUI

By Jerry Hinnen | College Football Writer

Another Georgia defender is facing a suspension following a reported offseason arrest.

Bulldog redshirt freshman linebacker Davin Bellamy was arrested at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday morning and charged with DUI and speeding, reported. According to Athens-Clark County police records, he was released at 6:22 a.m. after having posted a $2,000 bond. The charges are misdemeanors.

Bellamy faces a minimum mandatory two-game suspension, per Georgia athletics policy.

A four-star strongside defensive end in the class of 2013, Bellamy was not projected into the Bulldogs' starting lineup but was expected to contribute at outside linebacker.

He is the second Bulldog defender arrested this week, following defensive tackle Jonathan Taylor's felony assault charge last Tuesday. Taylor has been dismissed from the team.

The Macon Telegraph's Seth Emerson sums up the Bulldog defense's offseason difficulties:
