It's only a day old, and August has already been terribly unkind to Georgia fans hoping for good news on their oft-injured wide receiving corps.

The Bulldogs announced early Friday that Malcolm Mitchell had undergone arthroscopic surgery after injuring his knee during workouts earlier this week, with no timetable yet set for this return. And when discussing junior wideout Justin Scott-Wesley later in the day, the news offered by Mark Richt wasn't much better.

“I'm not sure when he's going to be able to play a game of football for us,” Richt said of Scott-Wesley, per Dawgs247. “We think it'll be this season, and he's moving along. He didn't move along quite as quick as some of the others.”

The "others" include running back Keith Marshall, who tore his ACL in the same game against Tennessee last October in which Scott-Wesley tore his. But while Marshall is set to play in the season opener against Clemson, Scott-Wesley will join Mitchell in the file folder of Bulldogs whose return is still very much TBD.

At the time of his injury, Scott-Wesley was the Bulldogs' second-leading receiver for 2013, with 16 catches for 311 yards.

Further complicating matters is Scott-Wesley's post-injury arrest last fall on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, one that's expected to cost him at least a game's suspension.

Richt also confirmed that linebacker Davin Bellamy, charged with DUI and speeding last week, will serve a two-game suspension that will cost him the Clemson meeting and the Dawgs' trip to South Carolina in Week 3.
