Both Philip Lutzenkirchen and the driver in the fatal car crash that claimed both their lives were intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The toxicology report released on Wednesday showed that Lutzenkirchen's blood-alcohol level was at 0.377, while Joseph Davis, the driver, had a BAC of 0.17. The legal limit in Georgia, where the accident occurred, is 0.08. Two others, Christian Case and Elizabeth Craig, were injured in the crash, with both Lutzenkirchen and Craig being ejected from the car.

The car accident occurred outside LaGrange, Georgia. B.N. Talley, the officer who responded to the scene, reported that a 2006 Chevy Tahoe missed a stop sign at a "t-intersection" before traveling off the intersection and into a churchyard. The car was "out of control for about 450 feet" before it overturned, ejecting all four passengers from the vehicle.

Lutzenkirchen was 23 years old.
